Hello All,
The sign-up for the presentations and workshops on Friday will open tomorrow Wednesday, March 8 at 1:00 pm on Moodle. https://intern.nyassembly.gov/course/view.php?id=11
Unless otherwise stated, the workshop and presentations will be held in person this week. Descriptions are as follows:
Poverty II - Presentation
Last time we discussed types of poverty, myths of poverty, and possible causes of poverty. In this presentation I will discuss Michael Harrington's book "The Other America," the attempt to eliminate the causes of poverty- "The War on Poverty," and how the effects of poverty has been treated.
Emotional and Social Intelligence - Workshop
As the old saying goes "CEO's are hired for their Intelligence and fired for their lack of Social Intelligence." As it turns out, success in life hinges more on Social and Emotional Intelligence than regular old Intelligence. Interestingly enough, we can improve our Social and Emotional Intelligence simply by being aware of it. Join us as we explore this very important skill, habit, characteristic.
